Brooklyn beauty products firm relocating to Long Island with Bohemia lease
A Brooklyn supplier of cosmetic and skincare accessories is relocating to Long Island.
Kosmetech Corporation leased 5,100 square feet of industrial space at 170 Wilbur Place in Bohemia. The company is relocating from its long-time home on Baltic Street in the Boerum Hill section of Brooklyn.
Kosmetech supplies a wide range of disposable beauty products, including cosmetic latex-free sponges, powder puffs, cotton swabs, cotton pads, eye shadow applicators, lip brushes, lip gloss applicators, mascara wands, eyeliner brushes, mini brush sets, jars, bottles and more.
Founded in 2003 by Dimitri Kontoleon, Kosmetech is now led by his wife Helen Kontoleon, after her husband died suddenly in 2024.
Kontoleon said the main reason for the move to Long Island was to be closer to family. Her brother, Taso Orfanos, owns Smart Pack USA at 80 Aire Park Drive in Ronkonkoma, not far from Kontoleon’s new Bohemia digs. Smart Pack is a supplier of skewers, picks, stirrers, tableware, bags and containers for the food and restaurant industry.
Besides being closer to her family, the building at 170 Wilbur Place provides Kontoleon more space and easier access for her business shipments and deliveries.
“I’m so excited,” she told LIBN. “When a 56-foot tractor trailer would come to our Brooklyn location they had to close the whole street.”
Gary Friedman of Schacker Realty represented Kosmetech, while Ellen Cea served as in-house representative for the landlord, Rechler Equity Partners, in the Bohemia lease transaction.
