303 Sunnyside Blvd, Plainview

Nonprofit relocating to newly renovated Plainview property

Helen Keller Services for the Blind leased 14,978 square feet of office space at 303 Sunnyside Blvd. in Plainview.

The nonprofit is relocating after selling its six-story, 72,000-square-foot Hempstead building for $8.875 million in April 2025. The Hempstead office building had been the home of Helen Keller Services for 47 years, after the nonprofit purchased it in Jan. 1978. Helen Keller Services, which also has locations in Islandia and Brooklyn, decided to sell the Hempstead property since it no longer needed that much space.

Melville-based Peconic Equities purchased the 76,488-square-foot building on 5 acres at 303 Sunnyside Blvd. in Plainview for $12.05 million at the end of 2024, the first time the property had changed hands since it was first constructed in the 1970s as an industrial/flex building. The new owner has since invested several million dollars in extensive renovations to the property, designed by Mojo Stumer Associates, that are nearly completed. Ralph Perna of Schacker Realty represented the tenant, while Daniel Wiener of CBRE represented the landlord, 303 Sunnyside Blvd. Management, in the lease transaction.
