SCHACKER REAL ESTATE
CORP. PARTNERS
WITH N.J. FIRM IN CHINA VENTURE ...
Melville
-- China may prove to be the new frontier when it
comes to industrial real estate development. At least
that's how industrial real state broker Ron Lazar
of Schacker Real Estate Corp. envisions the future
due to a venture Schacker has entered into through
the labors of Lazar and his colleague, Jules Borrus,
Borrus Associates, Inc. of Old Bridge, N.J.
Lazar
and Borrus are looking to break new ground, helping
American companies who have an interest in establishing
or expanding their presence in China by interesting
them in Jiaming Industrial Park. The developers of
this industrial complex, located in Liaocheng City
in Shandong Province, have already established the
basic infrastructure necessary to attract companies.
Jiaming
Industrial Park offers many advantages over congested
locations such as in Shanghai or Hong Kong, Lazar
explains, while at the same time offering extensive
and convenient transportation links including road,
rail and waterway with neighboring access to the major
seaport of Qingdao. This site is also positioned in
the midst of the 100 million people who live in the
surrounding region offering a population of potential
consumers larger than most countries.
Looking
for local marketing assistance from the Huntington
Chamber of Commerce (recently changed to Chamber of
Commerce Regional Business Partnership) Lazar, who
serves as Vice Chair of the Organization, and is Director
of the its Economic Development Task Force, hopes
to attract attention to the project through the Chamber's
program called the China Iniative. As part of this
effort, Lazar will be conducting a roundtable discussion
entitled "Financing a Manufacturing/Distribution
Center in China" at the organization's Business
Expo and Luncheon on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at
the Huntington Town House.
With
an eye towards its future tenants, the local municipal
and provincial authorities behind Jiaming Industrial
Park are determined to make it into the preferred
one for U.S. companies who want to locate in China.
Lazar is the Long Island broker committed to doing
his best to promote Liaocheng City in Shandong Province
as the ideal place for an American Company to open
up shop.
